Anyone enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in the mental health field, social sciences, philosophy, or theology. The Catholic Psychotherapy Association requires documentation of Student status, to include: your college or university of enrollment, proof of enrollment in the current academic term, your field of study, and anticipated date of degree completion/graduation. Upon receipt of documentation, your application will be processed.

Affiliate members will be persons who do not meet the criteria for the membership classes noted above, but who otherwise meet the general criteria for membership. This might include, but is not limited to: non-Catholics, spiritual directors, retired clinicians, bachelor-level professionals, chaplains, etc..

*Only clinical and academic members shall have voting rights within the association or be eligible to serve on the Board of Directors. All other rights and privileges of the association shall be shared in equally by all categories of membership.
Clergy, religious, and seminarians are invited to join CPA as Clinical, Academic, Affiliate, or Student members, according to their education, license, or focus of work.
