We invite you to join us on Thursday,  January 30, 2020, at 6:30 p.m at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Minneapolis, MN, to gather, pray, and discuss how to integrate our Catholic Faith with our clinical practice. 

 

Presenter:  Kate Soucherey, LMFT, Psychotherapist

Topic:  Multicultural Counseling Training - Becoming Aware, Sensitive, Responsive, Competent, and Humble Therapists, Counselors, Psychologists, Social Workers, and Healers. 

Kate is a licensed marriage and family therapist and works at Christian Heart Counseling in Stillwater. She says she loves to study!

Kate attended St. Catherine University in the mid-1970s and earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and taught middle school and high school for 20 years.  In the 1990s, she attended the St. Paul Seminary of the University of St. Thomas and earned a master’s degree in theology. In the early 2000s, she earned a second master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Saint Mary’s University and has been a therapist since 2011.  In 2014, Kate returned to school and earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership, again from Saint Mary’s University.  Kate continues to do therapy and writes and speaks to groups about marriage, family life, and multicultural changes occurring in our country at this time, which was the topic of her dissertation.

Kate has been married to John Soucheray for 37 years and they have three adult children, two of whom are married and they have four grandchildren.  One more grandchild is on the way and their youngest son is getting married in the summer of 2020.

Note:  Parking can be found at metered spots in the street or the River Place parking ramp located on the corner of Bank Street SE and 2nd Street SE. 

For those who opt to use the parking ramp vouchers will be provided for the first two hours.  Enter Riverplace Ramp on 2nd Street - use the elevator in the connected building, take it to level 3, exit building from about 1/2 block down from the church on Lourdes Place.

When you reach the church, please enter by Door 3 of the church building (left side of front stairs).   The meeting will be held in Hofstede Hall, located in the church basement.
