About the speaker:

Sister Mary Patrice Ahearn is a Religious Sister of Mercy of Alma, Michigan.  She has been a member of her community since 2003. She graduated with her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Institute for the Psychological Sciences (IPS) in Arlington, Virginia in 2013. Her clinical work has primarily focused on service to the Church with the assessment of candidates to religious life and the seminary, and in working with priests. Sister also worked with clients from the general population while she worked at her community’s Sacred Heart Mercy Health Care Center in Alma, Michigan. She spent about 2 years teaching psychology and counseling at the University of Notre Dame in Sydney Australia before becoming the Director of Counseling Services at the Pontifical North American College in Rome. Sister Mary Patrice has an interest in working with religious, priests and seminarians and wrote her dissertation on the psychological assessment and treatment of religious women. She is dedicated to helping those in service to Church and appreciates collaboration with other professionals in her field and beyond.
