Continuing Education

This program is co-sponsored by the Catholic Psychotherapy Association and The Institute for Continuing Education. Continuing education credit is approved as listed below. The Conference offers a total of 13.5 contact hours , with credit awarded on a session-by-session basis; full attendance of sessions is required to earn credit. The 13.5* Continuing Education credits are included in your registration fee (April 30 Pre-conference: 3 hrs / April May 1: 4.5 hrs / May 2: 6* hrs). There are no additional fees to earn your credits.  No CE credits will be given for student or exhibitor registrations. If you have questions regarding continuing education, the program, faculty, learning objectives, or grievance issues contact The Institute at: / 800-557-1950.  


  • To receive CE credit, attendees must complete all CE forms, submit an evaluation of the sessions attended, and sign in/out at designated locations. 
  • It is the responsibility of attendees to determine if CE credit offered by The Institute for Continuing Education, will meet the regulations of their licensing/certification board.

NON-CREDIT SESSIONS:  Some sessions may not offer continuing education credit by some or all approving entities. Registrants may attend these sessions, but will not receive continuing education contact hours as indicated below. It is the responsibility of each attendee to determine the continuing education requirements of their licensing/regulatory board.

Any sessions not offering CE credit will be posted here upon determination.

CPA may choose to offer sessions that focus on more explicitly faith-related issues relevant to the requests and practices of our members, but which do not meet criteria for CE credit.

Psychology:  The Institute for Continuing Education is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.  The Institute for Continuing Education maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Counseling:   The Institute for Continuing Education and Catholic Psychotherapy Association are co-sponsors of this program.  This co-sponsorship has been approved by NBCC.  The Institute for Continuing Education is an NBCC approved continuing education provider, No. 5643.  The Institute for Continuing Education is solely responsible for this program, including the awarding of NBCC credit.    

Social Work: The Institute for Continuing Education, Provider 1007, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB),, through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program.  The Institute for Continuing Education maintains responsibility for the program.  ASWB Approval Period: 04-13-2018 - 04-13-2021.  Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval for continuing education credits.   Social workers participating in this program will receive up to 10.00 clinical continuing education hours.

Marriage-Family Therapy: The Institute for Continuing Education is recognized as a provider of continuing education by the Florida Department of Health, Division of MFT, Social Work, Counseling, Provider BAP 255, expiration 03/2021.

Skill Level:   Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced
Non-Credit Events:  CE credit is not offered for committee meetings, poster sessions, networking sessions, meal functions, and registration/breaks, pre-conference events.

Instruction Methodology:   May include didactic, lecture, audio-visuals, demonstrations, experiential exercises, case examples, small and large group discussions.
