APA’s Office of Continuing Education Sponsor Approval (CESA) has systematically reviewed CPA’s application to become an APA-approved CE sponsor. CPA was granted APA Sponsor status! We will now be able to review and endorse CPA educational content for APA CE eligibility and grant CE credit for those programs that meet the criteria outlined in APA’s standards.
This is a big step forward in supporting Catholic clinicians in completing CE education for licensure that reflects the interests and values of our members and the organization’s mission. In the application process, APA accepted the full mission of CPA as articulated in our Mission Statement. The Board of CPA and the CE Reviewers/Committee are now better positioned to support members’ licensure needs and promote the educational content generated by the membership.
CE offerings meeting APA Standard Criteria will contain the following language and one of the two icons:
“The Catholic Psychotherapy Association is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Catholic Psychotherapy Association maintains responsibility for this program and its content.”
