The Catholic Psychotherapy Association Announces Executive Director
The Catholic Psychotherapy Association has selected, Nicholas Murray as the next Executive Director of the Catholic Psychotherapy Association.
On March 4, 2024, The Catholic Psychotherapy Association announced that Nicholas Murray has been named the executive director of the non-profit devoted to supporting mental health professionals, by promoting the development of psychological theory and mental health practice, which encompasses a full understanding of the human person, family, and society in fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
After majoring in Risk Management and Insurance at Georgia State University, Nick had a 22-year career in insurance regulation and insurance company management. At Senior Life
Insurance Company, he grew the company’s infrastructure from six to 40 states of operation.
He left after 16 years there as Senior Vice President, CFO, and Treasurer and also held two related designations and served on two association Boards. Nick answered the call to be closer to his family when they started Grateful Hill Farm, a family-run goat dairy and creamery, in
2017. Soon after, he converted to Catholicism and was confirmed in 2021. He currently manages the farm, consults in all aspects of business finances and administration, and serves on the Board of Directors of Senior Life Insurance Company and the finance council of his parish.
As executive director, Murray will work closely with staff and the CPA board to ensure the organization can improve its operations and member experience. One of his first acts as director will be to attend the CPA annual conference in New Orleans, LA. He will also oversee the CPA’s strategic planning survey and development of a new strategic plan.
